Ana H. Barban is a Senior Associate at The Joseph Firm, P.A., where she represents clients in a wide range of family law matters. Her practice is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate some of life's most personal and challenging legal issues with professionalism, compassion, and strategic advocacy. Drawing on years of courtroom experience, Ana works diligently to protect her clients' interests while providing clear communication and practical guidance throughout every stage of the legal process.

Ana brings a diverse litigation background to the firm, having represented clients in family law, commercial litigation, dependency proceedings, and domestic violence matters. This breadth of experience allows her to approach each case with a comprehensive understanding of litigation strategy, courtroom advocacy, and effective case management.

Prior to joining The Joseph Firm, Ana practiced as an associate attorney at respected South Florida law firms where she independently managed complex caseloads involving family law and commercial litigation. She regularly developed case strategies, counseled clients, conducted legal research, prepared cases for evidentiary hearings and trial, drafted pleadings and motions, handled discovery, negotiated settlements, participated in mediations, and represented clients in court proceedings. Her litigation experience also includes taking and defending depositions, dissecting witness testimony, preparing trial materials, and working closely with clients to ensure they were fully prepared for every phase of their case.

Earlier in her career, Ana served as a Junior Attorney with Florida's Department of Children and Families, Children's Legal Services. In that role, she represented the State of Florida in dependency and termination of parental rights proceedings, appearing in court on a weekly basis for adjudicatory hearings, evidentiary hearings, shelter hearings, judicial reviews, and termination of parental rights trials. This experience provided her with extensive courtroom advocacy skills and a deep understanding of cases involving children and families.

Ana also served as an Attorney Case Manager in the Domestic Violence Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. Working alongside the judiciary, she attended civil domestic violence injunction hearings daily, prepared various types of judicial orders including final judgments on injunction for protection against domestic violence, conducted legal research, and assisted self-represented litigants with child related matters such calculating temporary child support pursuant to the Florida Child Support Guidelines, and designating neutral and safe child exchange locations. This position gave her valuable insight into the judicial process and strengthened her ability to navigate complex family law issues with efficiency and precision.

Before becoming an attorney, Ana gained valuable legal experience through judicial internships, pro bono legal work, and years as a legal assistant and secretary, where she assisted attorneys with every aspect of handling litigation matters. These early experiences established a strong foundation that continues to influence her detail-oriented and client-centered approach to practicing law.

Ana earned her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law in 2017. She also graduated summa cum laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and was recognized on the Dean's List for eight consecutive semesters, reflecting her longstanding commitment to academic excellence.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ana is able to effectively communicate with a diverse client base and is committed to ensuring that every client understands the legal process and feels informed throughout their case.

At The Joseph Firm, Ana is dedicated to delivering thoughtful and compassionate legal counsel, meticulous preparation, and strong courtroom advocacy. She understands that family law matters often involve significant emotional and financial consequences, and she works tirelessly to help clients pursue practical, effective solutions while protecting what matters most to them.
